1. How have agriculture, industry, transportation, and communications in Russia changed since the breakup of the Soviet Union?
Industry and agriculture have decreased since the break up of the soviet union but are starting to rise again. While communications and transportation have greatly increased.
2. What is Russia’s relationship to the global community?
Russia's relationship to the global community is that of a stable country. It has joined many groups with countries around the world. Even though it has borrowed money from other countries it has become a leading country in power and energy.
Creative Writing: Write a paragraph that describes how Russia has made the transition to a market economy.
During the soviet union all of Russia's businesses were owned by the government. Then when Mikhail Gorbachev came to power, he encouraged the public to take over and start owning their own businesses. Yet most of the country couldn't afford this, the change from government owned businesses was beginning.

1. How does Russia manage its natural resources?
Russia manages its natural resources by protecting forests, making sure the water does not get more polluted, and also protecting the animals that live wild through Russia.
2. What are the environmental challenges in Russia’s future?
The environmental challenges that face Russia in the future are less and less fish populations, also the destruction of wild animal reserves, and also flooding of Siberia.
Creative Writing: Write a paragraph that describes how pollution has affected the lives of Russia’s people.
Pollution has changed the lives of Russian people by nuclear waste harming their lives. Nuclear radiation has caused many harmful diseases in people. Also since most of the water supplies of Russia are contaminated, people may need their water sources from other countries.
